New for riders: Silca Omata, Tymewear and winter shoes

A bike computer with dials, a breathing chest strap, Northwave winter shoes and a free app for sensor batteries. What can you actually buy in Belgium?

Published on 19 October 2026.

The tech press covered a run of new products this week. Below are the four that stand out most for cyclists, with what we know about their availability in Belgium. The details come from road.cc and Gear Patrol.

Silca Omata: a bike computer with dials

A GPS bike computer with no screen. Mechanical dials show speed, distance, ascent and ride time. It has an aluminium case, charges over USB-C, and a firmware update now lets it pair with power and heart rate sensors. The price is $800. Silca sells it in small batches and for now only in the United States, so you cannot order it from Belgium.

Tymewear VitalPro: a breathing chest strap

A chest strap that measures your breathing and uses it to work out the ventilatory thresholds VT1 and VT2. The maker claims accuracy of up to 97% against lab testing. That figure comes from Tymewear itself. The UK price is £299.99, or £399 with a year of ProTraining. We have not checked a price at Belgian sellers.

Northwave Celsius R Arctic GTX: a winter shoe

A waterproof winter shoe with a Gore-Tex membrane, 200 g of PrimaLoft insulation in the toe box, a neoprene ankle gaiter and a new SLW7 closure. The UK price is £229.99. On bol, partner seller Correct BV lists a Celsius R Arctic GTX for €179 (size 43). Check the product page to see whether this is the new version, because we could not tell from the listing.

Charged: a free app for sensor batteries

An app for iPhone and Android that keeps track of the batteries in your sensors and electronic drivetrains, including Shimano Di2 and SRAM AXS. It warns you when a battery runs low and sends maintenance reminders, such as for waxing your chain. It supports more than 150 models from over 40 brands. The app is free.

What this means for you

Of the four, only the app is usable right away. For the others, price and availability in Belgium depend on the seller. What is in Belgian shops today is in the comparison tool.
