Published on 19 October 2026.
Why now
On Sunday 25 October 2026 the clocks go back an hour. It gets dark earlier after that, and many riders cycle home with lights on. A radar light detects vehicles approaching from behind and tells you through a compatible bike computer or app.
Prices on 19 October
- Magene L508: €125.99, sold by bol.
- Garmin Varia RTL515: €199.99, sold by bol.
- Garmin Varia RTL515 from partner seller Tradeinn: €170.99, delivery around 26 October. That is €29.00 less than at bol.
- Garmin Varia RCT715, a radar with a camera, from partner seller Sportimo: €379.00 against a recommended price of €399.99.
How to choose
The Magene L508 has the lowest amount of the four. The Varia models belong to the Garmin system and work most smoothly with a Garmin bike computer. The RCT715 adds a camera and costs over €175 more than the RTL515 at bol. Before you order, check that the light works with your bike computer.
With partner sellers, delivery time and shipping matter as much as the price. Amounts may have changed since, so confirm them on the product page.
